T-day 2007
My holiday was good, very good – but it almost didn’t happen. Matt and I decided to spend Thanksgiving in the city with some friends of Adam's (I'm going to continue writing about these people as if you know who they are). After acquiring the directions to where we will be having our Thanksgiving day dinner, we traveled by cab only to find that it did not exist. The street was there, and so was the correct cross street, but the actual building number was not. Frustrated, Adam reached into his coat for his cell phone... the cell phone that he apparently left at home. Matt, Adam and I were left with no other option but to take another cab back home so we could call our host for the correct directions. It took about 20 minutes to hail another cab, and with a grand total of $30 in cab fare later, we were back in the Mission and Adam attempted to call our host. No answer.
Feeling frustration and increasingly worried that Thanksgiving might not happen, I suggested to Matt that we go with one of our other options. Thankfully, Adam was able to reach our host within minutes and found that we had the correct building number and the correct street name (with the same cross street), but in Oakland. We were in the wrong city.
The wrong city. Oh the hilarity.
With some hesitation (the whole point was to stay in the city after all) we hopped onto the BART and made it to our T-day location 40 minutes late. Everyone held off eating until we arrived, and after some quick introductions, we were greeted by an awesome spread of food: turkey AND ham, cornbread stuffing with bacon, bean casserole, candied walnut and crumble blue cheese spinach salad, homemade mac and cheese, homemade cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes with both regular and sweet potatoes. YUM! I’ve never celebrated Thanksgiving with people that I’ve never met before, but we all felt right at home. Thank you Ryan and Angela!
Needless to say, we didn’t catch the BART back to San Francisco until late despite my constant eye on the time. The clock struck 12 while I was still underground on the train, and in all honesty I was more concerned about arriving home to a pissed off Corgi than my blog. I guess it was just meant to be. Maybe next year...

That is a kind of awesome story. I can't believe you were only 20 minutes late. I can't believe you were in the wrong city!

Remember that year when we went camping, and you went to the wrong state park? LOL
I suggest you should ask for a GPS for Christmas. hehe
