Escape from SOMA
I made the startling revelation Monday night that I haven’t stepped outside of this area, not once, in the past two and a half weeks that I’ve been here:

(Refer to the area within the little pink mile markers)
Whoa, two and a half weeks... already? I’ve been trying to take a break and get out at least once a day for either a walk or to meet a friend for lunch, but I’m afraid that I’ve gone stir-crazy! Thankfully, yesterday, a new friend/job hunting mentor invited me to lunch down in Palo Alto. While Palo Alto is a good one hour commute from here (via public transport), I didn’t care. Get me on that train!
What a breath of fresh air! And more importantly, I got the kick in the pants that I needed. Chill. Enjoy the ride.
Funny thing, as I was passing through San Bruno via Caltrain, I realized that it was the first time that I've ever been away from Dutch for more than just a few hours. I missed him and (after I returned) I could tell that he missed me a bit too. Then he proceeded to chew on my skirt and gnaw at my argyle clad ankles.
Once settled, I spent a quite evening soaking in the outdoor hot tub, with the lights of the city twinkling in the background. Enjoying the ride.

I knew a couple of people in New York City who never went north of 14th Street. It can still be a great time I hope!

Funny, you made me realize I have not left a triangle shaped area starting from Park Ave to the Pittsford Wegmans to BHTLR in about the same time frame. Yet I have been back and forth from work, out to dinner, lunch and several parties.

N: oh yeah, still lots to do!
M: BHTLR? Hmmmmm... is it safe to say I know where you work?
MS: Ha, lucky for now. I doubt I will be able to finagle an outdoor pool/hot tub once I get my own place :) In the meantime, I'm soaking it up!
