A short snippet of the weekday grind

Yesterday was a beautiful day with a temperature in the high 70’s - a rarity for these parts and a nice break from the rain that plagued us all last week. My job search has been driving me nuts lately, so I decided to avoid the computer and phone for a few hours, and voyage outside for one my favorite activities: urban hiking!

9 miles total. And I did pretty good on the "walls." Phew!
Then I arrived home to more job leads via email and interview requests via phone. See? Even when you stop to take your mind off things, stuff still manages to get done.
As for Dutch:

He is getting so big! Hard to believe that only 4 weeks ago I was able to hold him in one arm, and clean up his mess with the other! Now I need both arms and a steady foot to pick him up. He received his last vaccination (for now) on Monday – so now he can safely play with the other doggies. He’s really happy about that! He started his first day at puppy school this past Sunday, and he’s already ahead of the class with the “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “shake” that Mindy and G taught him. And since he’s such a smarty-pants, he came home from class with a newbie, “say hello” – where you hold out your hand and he touches it with his nose. So adorable, he melts my heart! I cannot wait to show you all his Halloween costume!

Is it bad that when I first saw this photo I though "awwww, what a cute dog!". Took me a second to remember that he's MY little ankle-biting shithead :)

You so need to get yourself a dog once you have your own place. I'm assuming they're not going to let you kidnap Dutch?

M: yeah... he looks so cute and calm in photos, it's easy to forget ;)
N: I bet your cat would LOVE that! That's a blog in of it's own.
T: I honestly don't think I could do 9 miles in NY - because it's a dark, scary and ugly city where only bad things happen to Kirsten (that's just my opinion!)
S: Ha, Dutch is here to stay, I'm afraid. But a dog for me is in the plan... once I get one of those job things, and apartment things. I've got puppy fever all right!
