Onward!

I haven’t even been here for 24 hours and yet and I’ve already slept 17.5 hours. I guess that’s to be expected after 2 weeks of non-stop packing, working, selling, lifting, packing, working and working some more. That, on top getting no sleep Saturday (I had to leave home at 3:00 am Sunday morning, to get to the Rochester airport by 4:30 am, to make my flight at 6:00 am) I think it all just sort of caught up to me now…

And despite all of that sleep, I’m a little grouchy because: I’m still cleaning the tomato juice out of my laptop after some woman on the plane knocked into my arm (mental note: don’t drink and use laptop on planes), Safeway had no bloody mangos (I want a mango!), I was too tired to spend any quality time with the roommates/friends last night (Mindy, G and Dutch), and lastly, I’ve got a lot to do, but I’m stuck here in bed, fatigued and stuffed up, in my jammies (which I like, actually)… requiring a day or two to recover, and hopefully, relieve some of these exacerbated symptoms of an oncoming cold with a $20 box of EmergenC.

Wait, how dare I complain? Today is day one of my Brand New Life in the city that I love. And I did get my welcome dose of In and Out fries and a vanilla shake from Mindy - that always makes me smile. Who cares if I’m snotnosed, jet lagged, and a little behind in my schedule, I’m one fortunate gal!

And bonus, it’s nice and sunny outside for my quick jaunt to the next best thing in the land with no Wegmans. But they’ll have mangos, delicious and ripe, mangos.

Wow K! We definitely need to catch up! Congrats on the move. No offense to you other Rochesterians, but life outside of that cloudy hole is so wonderful (even without Wegmans)!

thanks! well, from clouds to fog... but less rain, that's for sure!

When I first read that, I was like, "who wants to eat Bloody Mangos? Are they related to Blood Oranges" But then, I got what you meant. Good luck with everything outside of the land of eternal clouds!

Where'd you go?? Are you back in Chennai? (Also the land of eternal sunshine, except when it's monsoon season...)

Yay Cali girl!

Congrats to you! You are right - you are one fortunate girl and I wish you the best of fortunes in the new land. Like everyone else here, I hope you keep us up to date with your latest adventures!

Welcome to SF! See you on Friday night.

Congratulations on the move! San Francisco? I love it out there.

Coffee recommendation in case you haven't tried it yet: http://www.bluebottlecoffee.net/ Linden St. between Laguna and Octavia Blvd.

Wait..you..what...I don't even know where you moved the first time :).

Regardless, congrats to you - I adore San Fran - what a city. We shall see if Tokyo can compete with the city by the bay :)

N: sadly, I ended up forgetting the mangos while I was out. bloody hell. thanks!

B: ha, nope not India. A little closer though ;)

S: weeeeeee Mass girl!

P: thank you - and I will! Blog posting shall be more frequent!

B: I'm looking forward to it!

G: san francisco and i get along really well. i love it out here. love it love it love it! thanks for the recommendation, I love coffee... I just might take a hike over there this weekend :) (it's not too far from where i'm staying!)

D: I was temporarily living in a small town south of Canandaigua for the summer as I prepared for this big change. Tokyo, pretty awesome... I can wave hello to you guys from the coast!

Safeway? You're in San Francisco and shopping at SAFEWAY?! Promise me that will change. Bypass Whole Foods while you're at it and go straight to Rainbow or Golden Produce! :) I miss me my lovely produce stores!

A: ha, trust me, I'm no fan of Safeway. but it's the closest grocery store and I was very jet lagged and hungry that night. and craving mangoes for some reason.
