Dutch Oven Monster Puddin' Pop

Dutch Oven Monster Puddin' Pop (real name: Dutch) is a 10 week-old Welsh Corgi. Pee & Play, with Dutch the Puppy is a daily afternoon event where I take Dutch out for a potty session, play with him for 30 - 60 minutes, then take him out for another potty session before putting him down for an afternoon’s rest. Like all puppies, Dutch tires out pretty easily... sometimes right in the middle of the living room floor. We like to have a little fun with that:

It’s been awhile since I’ve hung out with a dog, let alone a puppy, so I knew it would take some time for us to get used to one another. On day one of Pee & Play, with Dutch the Puppy, Dutch walked over to his training pad and laid down, then looked up at me as if to say, “I don’t have to pee!” Silly me, I believed him... and sure enough, he let it all go on the kitchen floor moments after bringing him back inside. Oops. The next mistake was trying to clean the mess up with Dutch present. Oh, the relentlessly chewing of urine soaked paper towel! The half hour that followed was filled with play and we both had a good time.
After witnessing some fantastic potty training at work during pee session #2, I (gleaming with pride) picked Dutch back up and carried him to his room. While I was lowering him down to the floor, I accidentally let go a little too soon and Yikes! The poor guy fell awkwardly onto his back and head, letting out a big "yelp!" I guess I thought he would just land on his feet like the cats back home do. Silly me, puppies don’t land on their feet, just like babies. I fell to the ground to check him out, and thankfully, he was OK. I continued to pet and apologize to him over and over again until he shot me a "OK, that's enough, I'd like to sleep now" look. I felt so bad, poor pup!
Rest assured, we’re friends again.

Ditto! So cute! Corgis are adorable to begin with. They're like regular dogs that went through a "pimp-my-dog" show and put drop springs in them. I'll have one some day. For now, the lethal tail wagging of my 85 lbs. Lab does the trick.

With a name like Dutch Oven Monster Puddin' Pop he's bound to leave you a puddin' pop monster to clean up! Glad you're having fun with him...he says you're the best even when you drop him on his head.

E: not that I can take credit, but thanks!
P: those pit bulls are pretty adorable as puppies too (and as adults)!
J: Seriously. It's weird to know that he will continue to grow, but his legs will never catch up! I'd love to see a Corgi next to your Cole!
M: It has been a big day-o-poop that's for sure!
A: I'll never tell!
B: why thank you... again, not like I can really take credit, but he is very cute.... (cute, until he thinks your arm is an extension of his chew toy).
