The news? It's hot, duh.

Our decision to rent a townhouse with central air for the year was a brilliant one. Expensive, but brilliant. Yesterday, as the temps rose to 94 degrees (which, plus the humidity, felt like 106) - I was stuck all day in my cube of 83 degrees! That’s 83 degrees with the blinds closed! I had to move to the other side of the building on occasion to cool down and breathe! Which is why coming home last evening to an icebox was soooooo relieving. By 9:00pm I crawled under a blanket on the couch while watching the movie Swimming Pool because I was too cold!

I thought it was going to be a little better this morning, but as I stepped out of the house to go to work, I felt like I needed another shower. I do not mind a hot day every now and then, but an increase in temperature in addition to damp mugginess is uncomfortable. I would like to work at home for the rest of the day, but it is high noon and I am too afraid to go outside!

Makes me miss the desert. And that horse with no name.

Anyway, my point was not to brag - because you all know that we have opened our home to anyone seeking relief (wine or no wine) - but I just wanted to ask if anyone else has seen Swimming Pool? And if so – what do you think happened?
