streptococcus, i shake my fist at you

I went home from work a little early Friday afternoon because I was beginning to feel a little achy. After a long nap, I was feeling a little ok, but nervous that the cold I have been doing such a super job in avoiding was finally rearing its ugly head. Aches turned into a sore throat on Saturday, which continued through Sunday… and no better on Monday. I popped into the doctor’s to be gagged by a few cotton swabs and handed a script for some good ol’ penicillin. Strep throat. So glad that my friend streptococcus is back because it was rearing the time of my semi annual visit... i was getting worried.

I have made my couch my home over the past few days. Buried in a sea of magazines and throw blankets, I observed Derek playing “x-men legends” for hours on the Xbox and watched more DVD’s in a 48-hour period, ever: bad santa, hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (I do not want to talk about it), broken flowers, and outside providence.

Miso soup, bananas and chamomile tea have been the only things I could stomach today. I finally bathed an hour ago and changed into jamies that I have not been wearing for 2 days straight, so I suppose that is a good sign. Despite this bacterial inconvenience, I have yet to be infected with a cold this season!

And for some reason, that makes me feel better.

I was beginning to wonder what had become of you - and kind of suspected it might be the annual visit of the ol S-bug. I hope you are feeling better soon! ...um, like by Saturday??

Of course, I could change it to an all tea and soup menu, but it would somehow be a bit underwhelming...

E: even though i am on my 3rd sick day from work, i should be ok come saturday. for some reason this bout seriously kicked my ass. i guess running 26.2 miles last week compromised my immunity slightly... walking from the kitchen to my living room totally wipes me out.

and now back to watching 'planes trains and automobiles'

It ALWAYS happens to me when the weather jumps more than 30 degrees in one freakin day! I feel your pain, sister. I have a feeling I'll be joining the ranks of the ill soon. Pass the echinacea.

You sick little monkey!

I was wondering where you were... you missed the big meeting Tuesday and everything! Tracie and I were definitely concerned...
